knip
knip is a hanger that consists of two identical parts. From below it closes intuitively and clever around the clothes rail and fastens itself by its Own weight.
In the third semester project, a hanger was to be designed by different small groups.
process
We have derived the mechanism of the „knip“ from a pair of pliers. Pliers consist of two levers connected by a joint. The force of the arms is transferred to the head of the pliers and thus to the workpiece. When they are squeezed together, a gripping-like movement is created. This means when weight, such as clothes, is placed on the hanger, the „head“ automatically encloses itself around the clothes rail like a pair of pliers.
